Deering Oaks Farmers Market will move to Payson Park for 6 weeks

The Farmers Market will see a change of scenery in 2021 due to an unfortunate Browntail Moth infestation within Deering Oaks. The Market will start in Deering Oaks on Saturday, April 24th and run every Wednesday and Saturday until May 19th when it ventures over to Payson Park. The Farmers Market will stay at Payson Park for 6 weeks and return back to Deering Oaks on Wednesday, June 30th where it will remain until the end of the season.

This 6 week period is when browntail moth caterpillars are most active as they begin feeding on leaves and shedding their skins until they cocoon in late June/early July. Deering Oaks park will still be open during this 6 week period but there will be caution signs posted around the space alerting folks of the nuisance that lies within.
