350 Commercial St. - New Development Review Project

To residents and property owners: Gulf of Maine Properties Inc, has submitted a Level 2 site plan application for the installation of a ramp and float for the Gulf of Maine Research Institute located at 350 Commercial Street. The 48 foot long ramp (approximately 207 sf) is ADA compliant and leads to a 12 by 24 (288 sf) float. The float will be secured in place with support pilings. The installation is subject to review under Portland's site plan and Shoreland zoning standards.  In accordance with the Portland Land Use Ordinance, notices of receipt of a Level II Site Plan application must be sent to property owners located within 500 ft. of the subject property (or 1,000 ft. if the project is a subdivision or map amendment for a site located within an Industrial Zone). This application will be reviewed administratively by City Staff. This is the only notice you will receive.  A project and plan summary is available for viewing on the Citizen Self Service Portal (, by referencing Plan Number PL-000536-2019.
