Grant Applications for Portland Economic Development Plan Projects Due March 30

Non-profit organizations and City of Portland departments are now welcome to apply for grant funding from the Portland Economic Development Plan Implementation Program (PEDPIP). The current round of applications is due no later than March 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM.  The maximum grant request is $15,000, though the total amount of funds available for this round is just $22,900.

PEDPIP provides non-profits and City departments with small matching grants to assist with planning studies and other costs associated with implementing economic development projects and programs contained in the 2018-2019 Work Plan and in the larger Portland Economic Development Vision and Plan. PEDPIP does not fund “hard” costs for public infrastructure or private development projects. The Program guidelines provide information on activities eligible for funding from PEDPIP. These guidelines, along with the grant application, 2018/2019 Work Plan, and the Economic Development Vision and Plan can be accessed on the City’s website.

Submit applications online to the City of Portland’s Economic Development Department at or drop off a hard copy in Room 308, Portland City Hall no later than 3:00 PM on Friday, March 30, 2018. The Portland Development Corporation, the City’s loan and grant board, will review all qualified grant requests and approve the awardees.

The Portland Economic Development Plan and its companion Work Plan (updated every two years) provide a roadmap for Portland’s success with a strong focus on growing the economy, enriching the creative economy and supporting business. The current Work Plan (2018-2019) was updated through a collaboration of the City of Portland, Portland Community Chamber of Commerce, Creative Portland and Portland Downtown.
