Mechanic

Schedule to start will be five 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Will perform general service, overhaul and repair work on light and heavy duty trucks and other automotive and mechanical equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team of dedicated professional and medical providers serving individuals and families in the Greater Portland Area. Experience working with culturally diverse, low-income, immigrant, and underserved populations, as well as having bilingual skills, is desirable. The desired candidate shall be board-certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine and must maintain an active medical license in the State of Maine. This is a
full-time, contract position involving medical oversight of the Center, consultation and supervision of other medical staff, referral and networking within the community, and the provision of direct primary care services to the Center’s patient population. The Healthcare for the Homeless Clinic has been operated by the City of Portland Health and Human Services Department, Public Health Division for the last 18 years, and provides services for over 2,000 patients. The Physician will provide primary medical care for a patient panel, and will provide medical consultation for 5 mid-level providers working on the primary care team. This Physician will have the opportunity to work closely with on-site behavioral health and dental health teams; no in-patient care is required.
