Multi-lingual staff assists new arrival Secondary Migrant Refugees in Portland who are in need of immediate and short-term case management services. Services are designed to improve stability, independence, and overall quality of life for refugees in Maine.
Case Management Services
A full range of case management services are provided for a period of six months to one year. All services are offered to persons with limited English speaking abilities:
Cultural Skills Education
Cultural Skills training is offered to consumers on an individual or group basis. Training includes use and care of living spaces, understanding and utilizing local resources, and cultural orientation. The staff helps connect consumers to services such as English classes, healthcare, transportation, and childcare. Cultural Education workshops are also organized for social service providers working with refugees.
