The Healthy Maine Partnerships (HMPs) are funded by tobacco settlement dollars and implement initiatives, policies, and sustainable environmental changes at both the state and local level that reduce chronic disease risk, reduce or eliminate involuntary exposure to secondhand smoke, prevent tobacco use, increase access to healthier foods and increase opportunities to be physically active. Healthy Casco Bay is one of 27 local HMPs throughout the State of Maine, and is a program of the City of Portland, Health and Human Service Department, Public Health Division.
Healthy Casco Bay is the local Healthy Maine Partnership for the ten communities of Cumberland, Chebeague Island, Falmouth, Freeport, Gray, Long Island, New Gloucester, North Yarmouth, Pownal, and Yarmouth.
Healthy Casco Bay’s mission is to reduce tobacco use, increase physical activity, encourage healthy nutrition, and prevent substance abuse among Maine residents in the region.
