Healthy Casco Bay is the local Healthy Maine Partnership for a number of communities in the Casco Bay region including Cumberland, Chebeague Island, Falmouth, Freeport, Gray, Long Island, New Gloucester, North Yarmouth, Pownal, and Yarmouth.  Healthy Casco Bay’s mission is to reduce tobacco use, increase physical activity, encourage healthy nutrition, and prevent substance abuse among Maine residents in the region.

Healthy Casco Bay is committed to helping communities develop strategies to improve health that are locally-based, sustainable, and effective.  Have an idea for an after-school activity program?  Need a “cool” anti-tobacco/anti-drug presentation?  Want to know about best practices for improving nutrition?  Healthy Casco Bay can help.  We are here to help you:

• Build coalitions to make changes in policy and the built environment which support a healthy lifestyle.
• Create or refer you to physical activity, nutrition or tobacco-free living programs for kids and adults.
• Provide programming and presentations on health themes.
• Plan and execute events (health fairs, bike safety trainings, trail building days, etc.).
• Assess community resources and develop action plans to use or improve them.
• Find the resources you need to promote physical activity and better nutrition, and to encourage avoiding tobacco, alcohol and substance abuse.
