The Community Development Committee (CDC) is comprised of three members of the Portland City Council. Their role is to review and make recommendations to staff and the full City Council regarding development projects that are of considerable significance to Portland and those that require some sort of City Council action, such as the granting of a Contract Zone or the designation of a Tax Increment Financing District. The CDC may also review the City's master development plans, issue and review Request for Development Proposals, deliberate and make recommendations on the sale of City property, and may serve as the building and design committee for significant municipal development projects. The CDC is also responsible for working with City staff and the Council on issues of economic and community development, economic planning and business regulation.
