The CATV committee is composed of 3 City Councilors, one of whom is chairperson, 1 School Committee member and 3 members of the public. The Committee oversees compliance with the City’s Franchise agreement with Time Warner Cable Company, which expires in 2003, and with State and federal consumer protection laws; oversees the Franchise renewal process, which has recently begun; reviews subscriber complaints, Time Warner reports and operations; and reviews the operations of the public, educational and governmental channels.
