[ARCHIVED] Kennebec Street Construction to Begin June 7th- Traffic Delays May Occur

Beginning Monday, June 7, 2021, the City's contractor, Aceto Construction , will begin to mobilize for road construction on Kennebec Street between Brattle Street and Elm Street.  Through traffic on Kennebec will be prohibited.  However, Hanover, Preble and Elm Streets will remain open to through traffic.  Short term, minor alternations to this work area may be necessary to facilitate material deliveries, moving of equipment, etc.  Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists should use caution in this area and follow all work zone signage.

The Kennebec Street Corridor Improvements Project will install new sidewalks on both sides of Kennebec Street from Hanover Street to Brattle Street and reconstruct existing sidewalk on the north side of Kennebec Street between Elm Street and Preble Street.  Work will include new gravels, pavements, curbing, signing, striping, drainage related items and other incidental work.

Construction is scheduled to begin June 7th and be completed by September 15th, 2021.
