Preble Street Sewer Separation Project

Beginning on Monday, March 30, 2020, the contractor for these projects Sargent Corporation will be returning to work on Preble Street.

The week of March 30th, the contractor will be erecting traffic control signs and patching potholes in preparation of starting work.

Preble Street between Somerset Street and Cumberland Avenue will consist of work inside manholes and catch basins, the CDBG related project for rebuilding sidewalks and curb will also be starting.

Preble Street between Portland Street and Cumberland Avenue will see two (2) CMP manholes and conduit rebuilt. This work is being done by Sargent Corporation in conjunction with CMP. 

When this work is to take place, a notice will be posted.

Work on Kennebec Street will begin with PWD’s contractor Sargent Corporation installing temporary water main from Forest Avenue to near Preble Street. PWD will be notifying businesses and residents.

On Preble Street from Cumberland to Congress Street PWD’s contractor Sargent will be removing temporary pavement placed last fall and rebuilding the trenches.

There will be roadway closures as necessary to rebuild the roadway. Repaving of Preble Street from Marginal Way to Congress will take place in late May. Please observe traffic control signs and flaggers 

working on the project.
