[ARCHIVED] Seeking Task Force Members to Help Set City's 5-Year HUD Plan


The City of Portland is looking for members to serve on a priority setting task force to help set the City’s 5-year consolidated plan for its U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development federal funding.

The City receives approximately $3 million annually in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As a stipulation of the funding the City must submit a 5 year consolidated plan. The plan requires the City to set local goals and priorities in which these funds will be used for. HUD requires robust public outreach and citizen participation for goal and priority setting, the task force was established to meet those requirements. 

Responsibilities and Goals of the Task Force

The Task Force will:

  • Review current needs, goals, and priorities from the 2016-2021 Consolidated Plan;

  • Research needs within the community 

  • Analyze, review, and revise the CDBG application and allocation process

  • Participate in public outreach efforts with stakeholders 

  • Make recommendations for priority needs and allocation process revisions to the City Manager and City Council. 


Community Development Priorities Task Force: 9+ Positions 

The City is looking for a diverse group of Portland residents who are fair-minded, analytical, impartial, and knowledgeable about the relevant needs of the City in the realms of urban planning, public improvements and social services. Knowledge of the CDBG, HOME or ESG Programs is helpful but not necessary. The ability to work in a group setting, discuss and deliberate alternatives, and reach a consensus is required.
