[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alert: Fore and Franklin Street

traffic alert

Starting on Monday, September 30, 2019, The Department of Public Works will begin conducting test pit utility explorations in Fore Street between Mountfort and Morning Street and in Franklin Street between Marginal Way and Commercial Street.  This work is being completed to aid in the design of upcoming sewer separation projects which are currently being developed by the Department of Public Works.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR MOTORISTS:  The City’s contractor, Ted Berry, will begin work at 7am Monday morning in Fore Street.  The work in Fore street is expected to take approximately two days.  Motorists should expect lane closures within the work zone.  Please use caution when approaching and driving through the work zone.  Work in Franklin Street will commence upon completion of the work in Fore Street and last approximately one week.  A majority of the exploration work in Franklin will be conducted at night between 7pm and 7am to reduce traffic impacts.

Motorists are urged, if possible, to seek alternate routes into and around this area during this time period.
