Land Use Code Rewrite

Upcoming Community Conversations to Prepare for Implementation Phase of Comprehensive Plan

City Planning staff is hitting the streets over the next few weeks to meet with neighborhood associations about first steps for implementation of the new Comprehensive Plan, Portland’s Plan 2030. These "Community Conversations" will be opportunities for staff to provide an overview of the new Comprehensive Plan, and hear from residents about how it should translate into new zoning and land use regulations.

One of the top recommendations of the Comprehensive Plan is developing a new, accessible, Land Use Code. The Land Use Code includes the zoning, subdivision, and related standards that regulate physical development in the city, including uses and elements of physical form such as setbacks and heights. Identified as a priority implementation step of the new plan, this effort will help realize Portland’s overall vision for the future.

Community Conversations are being hosted by the neighborhood associations as part of their regularly scheduled meetings. The schedule to date is as follows:
